this blog was never intended to be written today. When i woke up this morning i never would have guessed that by the end of the day i would have heard the most horrible news. A co-worker/friend passed away Thursday in a car accident. If you knew Ashley you would be devastated. She was vibrant, young, lovable, sweet and one of the funniest people i have ever met. No, we were not super close but she was my favorite "work buddy" up until she moved to Florida last May with her husband in order to pursue her dream of a career in Marine Biology. The most distinctive thing i remember about Ashley is her smile. Her aura was contagious, it glowed and made the world glow with her. Now all can do is cherish the memories such as our talks which ranged from politics to religion to episodes of Nip/Tuck. Our lunches in which we gushed over Sushi and most importantly the times we leaned on each other to vent about work or other stresses. This event has shaken me. I tend to forget how quickly God can take us and how young. Ashley was only 25 years old..... My age...... and now she's gone. With these few moments that have gone by with the knowledge of her death seeping in my brain, has allowed me to realize what the most important things in life are. I have to hold my family and friends that much closer, i have to do the things i love now and not wait until next time because there may not be a next time, i have to really practice my faith. Only Allah can console me now. May He bless Ashley and her family and all those affected by her passing. Bisous Ma Amie!
